Ryan Coogler’s genre-defying gangster vampire musical and period epic won best ensemble and best actor for star Michael B. Jordan at the Actor Awards – formerly known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards – on Sunday, March 1. And it’s a big deal for the film’s fans who are following the road to the 98th Academy Awards on March 15: The Actor Awards are an important bellwether, since actors comprise the largest voting bloc in the Academy.
