There wasn’t much snow, but the impact from a winter storm overnight into Friday will have a long-term impact on Alliance.
Many areas of the city were left without power, and officials from FirstEnergy say it could be several days before electricity is restored.
“Due to the widespread damage across our region, we expect it to be a multi-day restoration effort in OH and PA,” FirstEnergy said on its Twitter account late Friday morning. “We encourage customers to make any arrangements they see necessary to stay safe and comfortable while service is restored.”
Early Friday, they said the outages were vast.
“The winter weather that impacted our area yesterday caused 100,000-plus outages, primarily in our PA, OH and NJ territories,” the post said. “Our outage map provides 24/7 updates on the cause, estimated restoration time and crew status.”
