McKinley teacher investigated for ‘repeated sexual acts’ with students

March 12, 2018

A McKinley Senior High School teacher has been suspended pending a Canton police investigation into allegations that the teacher “engaged in repeated sexual acts with District students,” according to a letter placing the teacher on unpaid leave.

The investigation started Thursday, although Superintendent Adrian Allison declined to say how school officials became aware of the situation.

The teacher was placed on unpaid administrative leave on Friday and will not receive pay or benefits until further notice, according to the letter, which was obtained by The Canton Repository through a public records request. The teacher also is not allowed to have contact with students or parents or set foot on school district property.

In a statement issued Saturday, Allison said district officials were aware of allegations made against a McKinley teacher.
