Jelly Roll joining American Idol as ‘artist in residence’

Jelly Roll has been named as American Idol’s first-ever “artist in residence”.

In a YouTube video posted on Tuesday, the Son of a Sinner singer – real name Jason DeFord – and host Ryan Seacrest announced the news.

“I’m American Idol’s artist in residence!” he exclaimed.
