OHIO — All Pat Catan’s stores in Ohio and surrounding states are set to close, according to The Michaels Companies, Inc.

Michaels acquired Strongsville-based Lamrite West, Inc., the parent company of Pat Catan’s craft stores, back in 2016. Pat Catan’s is a retail supplier of arts and crafts in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan and West Virginia.

‘Empire’ star Jussie Smollett attacked in possible hate crime

"Empire" actor Jussie Smollett was attacked in the early morning hours on Tuesday in what Chicago police are calling a possible hate crime.

Smollett was attacked by two people who were "yelling out racial and homophobic slurs" and "poured an unknown chemical substance on the victim," police said.
One of Smollett's alleged attackers also put a rope around his neck, according to police. Both fled the scene.
Smollett took himself to Northwestern Hospital and "is in good condition," authorities said.

iPhone FaceTime bug lets other people eavesdrop on you

A newly discovered bug in Apple's FaceTime software lets Apple users listen in on the people they are calling, and even see through their front-facing camera, without them picking-up the call.

The bug, flagged by 9to5Mac on Monday, was quickly recreated by people across social media. CNN Business confirmed the bug multiple times in its own tests.

Akron Zoo opening ‘Pride of Africa’ exhibit this summer

AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Zoo has expanded and is launching a new exhibit this summer.

The Pride of Africa exhibit is opening on June 1 and will reflect “the beauty and mystery of the savannas of Kenya,” according to the zoo’s website.

This new exhibit features an expanded habitat for the African lions, a grasslands habitat for Speke’s gazelle and white storks, a Maasai boma with goats and an expanded train ride.
