Ohio reports largest spike in coronavirus cases since May 21 Mainly from Columbus and Cincinnati

Ohio reported its biggest spike in new coronavirus cases since May 21 on Thursday.

The state reported 700 new cases. The 21-day average is 438, ending a week-long span of relatively similar new cases each day.

`That 70s Show’ actor Danny Masterson charged with raping 3 Women

The three counts of rape by force or fear come after a three-year investigation of the 44-year-old Masterson, The charges were filed Tuesday and an arrest warrant was issued, prosecutors said. It’s not clear whether he has been taken into custody.

Masterson is charged with raping a 23-year-old woman in 2001, a 28-year-old woman in early 2003 and a 23-year-old woman in late 2003.

According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office,  all of the alleged crimes occurred at Masterson’s Hollywood Hills home.

Aunt Jemima brand name, imagery ending after 131 years

PepsiCo, the parent company of Quaker Oats, said the Aunt Jemima brand name and imagery is coming to an end, it announced Wednesday.

Media outlets, including AdAge and AdWeek, reported that the name and imagery on the 131-year-old brand of pancake syrup and mix will change, though it’s not yet known to what.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine said on Tuesday that it is "highly unlikely" the 2020 Pro Hall of Fame Game in Canton will be played with fans in attendance.  Last week, the Pro Football Hall of Fame said that it was optimistic it would be able to host fans for the Hall of Fame Game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys on August 6.

Ohio reported the most new coronavirus cases in the past 10 days on Tuesday.

The state reported 434 new coronavirus cases. The last time Ohio had more than that was on June 5. The 21-day average is 429.

Some ground beef recalled from Walmart, Giant Eagle, other stores

A company that distributes products to stores including Walmart and Giant Eagle is recalling more than 21 tons of ground beef due to possible contamination.

Lakeside Refrigerated Services of Swedesboro, N.J. is recalling 42,922 pounds of ground beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli.

U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service classifies the recall as one of high health risk.
